The LL Bean field tote is entirely grain and no gadgets: a thick double-layer polyester shell, double pads and handles that feel industrial. Inside, a thermoplastic lining increases the shoulders of humidity, mud and mystery with an ease of wipers. It is not completely leaks, but it is close, and it makes it perfect for transporting wet beach towels, snowy boots or a post-training adjustment.
It is a unique cavernous compartment, without difficult pockets. There is an open version, but we like the zip-top model for travel. The wired director Michael Calore has tested the extra-large version of 53 liters, and it is massive enough for a week of products, a few boxes of half-gallon oat milk and a 12 kombucha hard pack if you also plan to go shopping during your vacation.
