Israel Knesset rejects opposition bill to dissolve parliament

The Knesset of Israel rejected a preliminary vote on Thursday to dissolve after an agreement was concluded on a military conscription dispute. The motion, which could have led to early electoral polls suggesting that the Prime Minister would not lose, failed 61-53. A majority of 61 votes was necessary in the parliament of 120 places.
