According to Carter, the fatal event took place in the Georgian Patterson rural town in May 2024. Logan Sharpe walked with his parents ‘siblings and his parents’ cousins as Cason’s vehicle struck him. He stated that he liked broken bones and a traumatic head wound. Ultimately, the 7-year-old was declared dead at the scene.
Shaunte Sharpe explained to Carter that when he ran to his son, he noticed Cason was still there. Instead of sharing his shock and repentance, Cason “stared [into] space. ”
“He said he saw a large group of children on the sidewalk. As he approached children, he said he did not see Sharp running on the road, but saw him on the road just before the effect. He applied the brakes but could not stop in time. After the effect, Carson got out of the vehicle to check Sharpe.
Shaunte Sharpe informed Carter that he received Cason’s toxicology report months later. It stated that he had fentanyl and cocaine in his system. Nevertheless, he was reported to be the choice where his car would be towed after the event. It is still unclear whether he had ties to the selected body trade. In addition, bystanders pointed out that he would see him removing objects from his trucks after the accident.
