British Prime Minister Keir Starmer Ottawa visit today before Summit of G7 leaders in Alberta.
The summit begins Sunday in a context of increasing tensions and violence in the Middle East launched by the attack on Israel against Iranian missiles and nuclear sites on Friday.
Prime minister Mark CarneyWho organizes the summit, will welcome Starmer this evening in Ottawa and the two will meet on Sunday morning before the two for Alberta.
Great Britain and Canada have profound links in the defense, climate and culture sectors, but Starmer’s visit is involved in the midst of tense trade negotiations.

The Minister of Trade, to Manure Sidhu, met his British counterpart Jonathan Reynolds last week and only mentioned the extensive expansion of the temporary post-Brexit agreement during the Summary of Ottawa of the talks.
But Sidhu’s spokesman says that the two discussed the resumption of negotiations.
“Canada has always stayed at the negotiating table and we welcome the opening of the United Kingdom to resume discussions,” wrote Huzaif Qaisar.
“We are actively working with the United Kingdom to approach and resolve the main commercial irritants, strengthening our already strong bilateral relationship.”
The two countries have also taken an increasingly lively tone in the statements on the restrictions of Israel with food aid reaching Gaza and the expansion of the West Bank colonies – declarations which caused a decline in the American president Donald Trump.
Trump, Starmer and Carney should all arrive on Sunday in Alberta.
