The Clue Movie Has One Last Ending That’s Impossible To Watch Today

The “hint” is famous for having three terminals, each of which was shown in theaters with different film printing – some theaters even advertise what the end they looked like. In an interview with the 2023 Imperial, Tim Curry and director Jonathan Lynn talked about the physical demand of the film -leading monologue: a verbal explanation of the murder in which Wadsworth passes through the manor that offers a screening with a rapid pace of fire. It was enough to get curry to seek medical attention for exhaustion.

In that interview, Curry revealed fourth “hint” that almost reached the screen. “I ran around the house, killing everyone,” Curry recalled.

In fact, the fourth terminal is still in the manuscript you can find online if you look hard enough. In it, Wadsworth reveals that he is a true principal. It turns out that he just clicked. He was tired of being a perfectionist. He tried to be a perfect husband, but his wife committed suicide. He tried to be the perfect Butler but ended up killing his boss. So he decided to commit the perfect murder and gave himself the audience.

Wadsworth even poisoned all the surviving dinner guests so they die after he has made his monologue. Before he can lock them inside the manor, the FBI arrives, but Wadsworth distracts them by telling the whole story again. Police do not understand that Wadsworth has locked them all inside the manor and he is fleeing, stealing a police car and driving to the horizon.

Of course, this is a “hint” and no one really gets out of it. The scene ends with Wadsworth hearing the angry dialects of the German shepherd in the back seat. Cut into refunds, hint “shake, helm and roll”. Although the scene has never been published, it is still in the film’s novel, and shots of it have traveled online – as you can see here. According to the script, this was supposed to be the third end.

So what happened? Well, as Lynn told Empire, “it wasn’t enough fun enough. It wasn’t surprising enough. It ended the movie with Anti-Climax. So I just took it out. Three enough.”
