Investigators find cockpit voice recorder from crashed plane

The investigators recovered the vocal recorder of the cockpit (CVR) of the Air India flight, a key step to discover what caused the fatal accident last week.

The Air India plane to London, a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, crashed shortly after taking off Thursday from the western city of Ahmedabad. At least 270 people were killedMost of them passengers.

The CVR captures the cockpit audio, including pilot conversations, alarms and ambient sounds.

Flight data recorder (FDR), which records the crucial flight parameters such as the altitude, speed and engine performance, had been recovered on Friday debris.

The CVR and the FDR collectively form what is commonly called the “black box” of a plan. This is an essential tool in air accident surveys, helping experts reconstruct the last moments of the flight and determine the cause of the incident.

The black box, unlike the name suggests, is actually two bright orange devices – one for the CVR and the other for the FDR – painted with reflective strips for easier recovery after a crash. These two devices are designed to survive an accident.

The India Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) is investigating the cause of the accident, helped by teams from the United States and the United Kingdom.

On Sunday, officials of the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) questioned the plane accident site.

“The AAIB has launched a detailed investigation, and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) of the United States leads a parallel probe in international protocols, because the plane is of American manufacturing”, ” A declaration published Sunday.

The Indian media reported, citing sources, that managers of Boeing and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) – US Aviation Safety Agency – have also visited the site.

In addition, a high -level committee set up by the Indian government to examine the reasons for the accident should hold its first meeting on Monday.

The committee will submit a preliminary report within three months, All India radio saidAnd will offer new standard operational procedures (SOPS) to help prevent similar incidents in the future.

While the investigation continues, families in the field are still struggling with disbelief and trauma.

Less than a minute after taking off from Ahmedabad International Airport Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the AI171 flight collapsed in a doctors’ accommodation building at BJ Medical College and the civil hospital.

Every 242 passengers and crew members except one were killed. The officials also tried to establish the number of people killed on the ground and continue the slow process of corresponding DNA samples to confirm the identity of the victims.

During the weekend, the doctors said that 270 bodies had been recovered from the accident site.

More than 90 victims were identified Thanks to the appearance of DNA, Dr. Rajnish Patel of Ahmedabad civilian hospital said on Monday. He added that 47 of the identified organizations were sent to their families.

Among the victims identified Figure Vijay Rupani, the former chief minister of Gujarat, whose funeral will be held on Monday. Rupani, whose political career has lasted over 50 years, will be buried with the honors of the full state in Rajkot City.

For many other families, the agonizing expectation continues.

The officials told the BBC that the identification process was slow and meticulous, because many bodies were seriously burned in the accident and are treated in small lots.

Mistry Jignesh, waiting in front of the hospital for updates on his niece, said to the BBC on Saturday That the officials told him that he could take them more time to give the remains of his niece when the search for body is still in progress. He was told earlier that the body would be handed over on Sunday after the 72 hours, it takes normally to finish the DNA match.

“When people are still missing, how can they finish the DNA process by tomorrow? And if the remains of my niece have not even been found? Wainning kills us,” he said.
