Two people arrested after Australian man was shot dead

Bali police arrested two people during a shooting that killed an Australian and seriously injured another.

Zyvan Radmanovic, 32, was shot down just after midnight on Saturday after two men broke into his villa in Munggu, south of the Indonesian tourism island.

One of the suspects was arrested in Jakarta, the Indonesian capital, while the other was caught up abroad, police said without giving more details.

Mr. Radmanovic’s wife told the police earlier that she had been awakened by her husband’s cries before finding her body in the bathroom, Australian media reported.

Sanar Ghanim, who was also shot, underwent treatment for his hospital injuries. Local police said the 34 -year -old was also beaten.

Mr. Ghanim’s wife testified to seeing the attackers. None of the women was injured.

Police collected 17 units of bullets, two intact projectiles and 55 bullet fragments on the scene of the shooting.

Images of the villa published by the Australian media show bullet holes in windows and blood spots on the floor.

Several witnesses told the police that they had heard the shooters speak in English with strong Australian accents.

One wore an orange jacket with a dark helmet, while the other wore a dark green jacket, a black mask and a dark helmet, according to witnesses.

“I cannot start my bike,” said one of them, before finally managing to take off on a scooter, witnesses added.

Bali police said they were still investigating the shooters, but did not give more details on the arrest on Monday.

The Australian media reported that Mr. Ghanim was previously in a relationship with the daughter-in-law of the late Carl Williams, an eminent figure by Melbourne Underworld.

The reports indicate that Mr. Ghanim had served a prison sentence for a non -fatal shooting in Melbourne in 2014.

A Victoria police spokesman told the BBC that they were aware of a fatal shooting in Bali on Saturday and that their “investigators will provide support for the partner agencies throughout the investigation”.

The Saturday incident took place in the Bali tourist district in Badung, where there are many well -known beaches like Kuta and Cancgu.

Violent crime is relatively rare in Bali, which attracts millions of international visitors a year.
