Palestinians say Israeli troops fire on Gazans trying to reach GHF aid hub, with 34 reportedly killed

Deir al-Balah, Gaza Strip – at least 34 Palestinians were killed on Monday in new shootings near the food distribution centers led by a controversial group of Israeli and the United States in the south of the Gazasaid the Gaza Ministry of Health managed by Hamas. The toll was the deadliest almost daily shots that occurred while thousands of Palestinians move through Israeli areas controlled by the military to try to reach the food “hubs” led by the Private entrepreneur Gaza Humanitarian foundation.

Two witnesses said the Israeli troops opened fire early on Monday to try to control the crowd. There was no immediate comments from the Israeli army. He said that after many previous cases, the troops had drawn warning plans on what he called suspicious people approaching their positions.

The Ministry of Health managed by Gaza said that 33 Palestinians had been killed while trying to reach the center of the GHF near the southern city of Rafah on Monday while another was fatally slaughtered by trying to reach a GHF center in the center of Gaza. He said four other people were killed elsewhere in the war enclave by the war.

Two Palestinians trying to take food on the Rafah site, Heba Jouda and Mohammed Abed, told the Associated Press that the Israeli forces fired on the crowd around 4 am at the flag roundabout. The circle of traffic, hundreds of meters from the center of the GHF, was repeatedly the theater of shooting. The army has appointed specific routes to access the food centers, and GHF warned the aid seekers that leaving the roads is dangerous, but many do to go to food.

Israel and the United States say that the new GHF system is necessary to prevent Hamas from siphoning aid. GHF says that there has been no violence in or around the sites themselves. The financing and management of the GHF have remained unclear since he started his operations in mid-May, but it is made up of private and well-armed American security entrepreneurs.

The United Nations agencies and the main aid groups, which have provided humanitarian aid to Gaza since the start of the 20-month-old War of Israel, rejected the new system, saying that it could not meet the needs of the territory and allows Israel to use aid as a weapon. They deny that there is a flight of aid generalized by Hamas.

Philippe Lazzarini, the head of the United Nations Agency for the Palestinians, UNRWA, criticized the GHF in a press release on Monday as a “deadly distribution system” and deplored that “tragedies will relentlessly” in Gaza “while attention changes elsewhere”, in an apparent reference to the new gap of significant Fight between Israel and Iran.

Israel has launched surprise strikes on Iranian nuclear sites and senior scientists and commanders on Thursday, triggering an ongoing shooting exchange which, according to the Israeli army, killed at least two dozen civilians in the country, and would have hundreds in Iran.

“Dozens of people have been killed and injured in recent days, including hungry people who have been trying to fire food from a deadly distribution system,” said Lazzarini in an article on social networks. “The restrictions on the contribution of the UN, including @UNRWA, continue despite an abundance of assistance ready to be transferred to Gaza. In addition, serious shortages of fuel now hinder the provision of critical services, in particular health and water.

Israeli officials have repeatedly accused the United Nations aid agencies not to collect and distribute food that it allows Gaza, a significant part of which the Israeli army controls and now warns civilians to avoid due to its in progress operations.

Palestinian health officials say dozens of people have been killed and hundreds of injured since the GHF sites last month. Experts, including the United Nations agency leaders, have warned that the current military campaign in Israel and the restrictions at the entrance to the aid put Gaza, which houses more than 2 million Palestinians, in danger of famine.
