Gwyneth Paltrow Teases ‘A Lot Of Sex’ With Timothée Chalamet
Gwyneth Paltrow is set to make a big return to serious acting with her role in Josh Safdie’s upcoming film, “Marty Supreme,” and she has teased many intimate scenes with her co-star.
The “Iron Man” star, who has been largely absent from major roles in the past decade, takes on a bold character in the highly anticipated A24 project.
Starring alongside Timothée Chalamet, Paltrow’s role in “Marty Supreme” has already generated buzz, especially after on-set photos of the duo went viral.

Speaking to Vanity FairPaltrow revealed details about her character and how she fits into the world of “Marty Supreme.”
The film follows Chalamet as a ping-pong prodigy navigating the competitive world of international table tennis. Paltrow plays the wife of a rival player, whose connection with Chalamet’s character takes an unexpected turn.
“This woman who is married to someone who is in the Ping-Pong mafia, as it were,” Paltrow explained. “They meet and she’s had a pretty tough life, and I think he breathes life back into her, but it’s kind of transactional for them both.”

One of the most talked-about aspects of “Marty Supreme” is the intimate scenes between Paltrow and Chalamet.
Set photos of the two actors kissing had already sparked curiosity, but Paltrow revealed that their on-screen romance goes far beyond a few steamy moments.
“I mean, we have a lot of sex in this movie,” Paltrow teased. “There’s a lot—a lot.”
Later in the interview, she joked that she went straight to the point before filming intimate scenes with Chalamet. She said, “I was like, ‘Okay, great. I’m 109 years old. You’re 14.”
Paltrow also had good words to say about Chalamet, who she referred to as “a thinking man’s sex symbol.”
She added, “He’s just a very polite, properly raised, I was going to say kid. He’s a man who takes his work really seriously and is a fun partner.”

The film also introduced Paltrow to an intimacy coordinator for the first time, a relatively new role in Hollywood productions that ensures actors feel comfortable during intimate scenes.
However, the seasoned actress admitted she didn’t feel the need for one.
“There’s now something called an intimacy coordinator, which I did not know existed,” Paltrow said.
She added, “When ‘Marty Supreme’s’ intimacy coordinator asked me if I’d be comfortable with a particular move during the filming of an intimate scene, I was like, ‘Girl, I’m from the era where you get naked, you get in bed, the camera’s on.'”
Paltrow also revealed that she and Chalamet were comfortable enough to handle the scenes without much external guidance.

“We said, ‘I think we’re good. You can step a little bit back,'” she recalled. “I don’t know how it is for kids who are starting out, but…if someone is like, ‘Okay, and then he’s going to put his hand here,’ I would feel, as an artist, very stifled by that.”
Although Paltrow has remained active with minor roles in projects like “The Politician” and her recurring part as Pepper Potts in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, she considers “Marty Supreme” her first major acting commitment in over a decade.
She explained that “Laying it all on the line and accessing a kind of vulnerability” was key to her decision to take on this role.
The mother of two admitted that stepping back into such a demanding performance after years away from serious roles led to some self-doubt.
However, she was encouraged by a fellow actress who also made a recent comeback.

“Cameron Diaz is one of my best friends, sorry to name-drop,” Paltrow said, adding that Diaz encouraged her to embrace the experience.
“She told me to think about the richness and the deepening of my life. That’s all material…I’ve gone through a lot since the last time I was onscreen in a real way.”
Diaz also made her comeback to the acting world after being out for 11 years when she starred in Netflix’s “Back in Action.”
Meanwhile, “Marty Supreme” director, Josh Safdie, also spoke about Paltrow’s return to the big screen, praising her natural presence and talent.
“She’s a movie star. I say that in the cosmic sense. She’s got a gravitational pull that only a camera can depict,” Safdie said. “I think her absence from acting has lent a vulnerability to her abilities.”
With “Marty Supreme” set to hit theaters on December 25, fans will soon see Paltrow in a role unlike any she’s played before.
