Mia Thornton is setting the record straight on her personal and professional life amid swirling rumors about her status on The Real Housewives of Potomac.

Mia Thornton

Mia opened up during a recent interview on Posted On the Corner, the podcast hosted by her on-again, off-again partner. Reflecting on Season 9, Mia called it her most “authentic” yet. “I was actually living out my real life on camera, and I have no regrets,” she shared. “It was a lot, but I’ve grown closer to God and feel more secure in who I am.”

Mia also said, “I just feel so much more secure in who I am, so I’m grateful, but it was a lot of mess. It was a lot. A lot going on.”

She later threw shade at Karen Huger following her legal troubles, joking, “Can you phone a friend in jail?”

When asked about why she walked off the Real Housewives of Potomac reunion, Mia didn’t hold back. “I had enough. My feet were hurting, I couldn’t breathe, and we’d been sitting there for 10 hours. Labor laws kicked in—it was time for me to go,” she explained.

Addressing her heated moment with Gizelle Bryant at the reunion, she didn’t hold back. “You know I was about to knock the brakes off her head, right? The growth was to exit.”

Gizelle knows dang well that she would not speak to me that way if there was no security and not a platform. She would get her head knocked off by anybody talking to anybody that way. You’re being fake. You’re being phony. You’re doing it because of what’s going around.”

Mia made it clear why she walked away. “I don’t know how to do fake. I don’t know how to do phony. I keep it real. I would have really knocked her head off, so I had to leave.”

As for her future on Real Housewives of Potomac, Mia played coy.

“There are negotiations, so I can’t confirm,” she teased, but hinted that she wants the next season to focus on her life as a mother and CEO. She also claimed that Gordon went broke after paying for their wedding and revealed she had to step in financially.

Amid the uncertainty surrounding Rop Season 10, Mia made it clear that, regardless of the show’s direction, she’s focused on her future—whether that includes reality TV or not.
