In David Carson’s 1994 film “Star Trek: Generations” Admiral Kirk (William Shatner), he found himself deposited with a mysterious time connection, a magical spatial phenomenon that grabs people up and puts them in a pocket -like pocket. Time does not matter in Nexus, which means that people can almost spend eternity inside it without time to go outside. 87 years after Kirk has clicked, Captain Picard (Patrick Stewart) is also clicking, and he also lives in this heaven for a moment. However, Picard has to think. He must end a crazy scientist named Dr. Soren (Malcolm McDowell) to destroy the stars and kill millions. Because there is no time in Nexus, he and Kirk arrived at the same time at the same time. Picard assures Kirk to leave the connection, and they fight for Dr. Soren together.
In a mix of, however Kirk steps over the rich catwalk and falls on his death. His last words to Picard are, “It was fun.” Picard bury him under the pile of stone, and presumably leaves him to break up.
Of course, Kirk has been resurrected in small, non-canopy ways ever since. Internal- William Shatner’s 1995 novel “Return” Kirk’s body is located and upwards Borg, which operates under pressure from Romulians (!). Recently, the fans saw Kirk’s follow-up (?) 2023 in a non-can-can short film called “765874: Connection”. In the same year, the “Star Trek: Picard” episode declared canonically that Kirk’s body was indeed rescued from the planet he died and was held in a cold storage in a secret Starfleet -black place.
By extrapolating the latter chain, the new IDW cartoon again wakes James T. Kirk, this time for hundreds of years over the “next generation” era. According to the new press release, the new story is called “The Last Starship”.
Idw Publishing’s “Star Trek” cartoons, are also remarkable, are also non -canonical, so the “last star interval” is just a provocative to the character. The cartoon is written by Collin Kelly and Jackson Lanzing and drawn by Adrián Bon.
According to a press release, “Last Starship” sees Kirk’s body found on Starfleet Black and somehow using ultra -promoted technology. The story was set in 3069, 698 years after “Star Trek: Generations”. Kirk rises up in time to prove burning, an event described “Star Trek: Discovery” Third season. It seems that in 3069, unusual, galaxy kataclysm strikes unexpectedly. Everyone on board the dilithium artificial traps (in other words almost all of them) explodes spontaneously. Kataklysm ends quite a lot of civilization as we know it, causing a union fall and a widespread, monetary and slavery commercial system that rises.
The third season of the “discovery” takes about 120 years after burning. It seems that the “last star ship” is done correctly when it happens. Kirk apparently takes the command for a new 31st century star ship, whose new characters inhabited. Kirk’s mission is to understand the new future, where he finds himself, but also tries to preserve as much of the damaged federation as possible.
This is a fun idea. Stable minds are needed after burning, so why not James T. Kirk? After all, we know where his body is. Certainly, by the 30s, the technology has been developed back to life by Frankenstein.
One of the authors Kelly said in the following press release:
“The only familiar face is the one you never expect to see in this era: Captain James T. Kirk. […] William Shatner’s iconic performance exceeds the boundaries. Kirk is one of the great characters of the modern fiction canon, a timeless actor replies. He was also the first “Star Trek” character we have ever written – a director and a warrior poet with unlimited tragedy and contradiction. Now we have an honor to take this character for a truly uncharted, pioneering area on ‘last star of’ ” ‘”
However, the writers wanted to make sure to the public that the “last star ship” is not an archipelago or blurring to non -trekking. Sure, Trekit has work information “Star Trek: Generations”, “Star Trek: Picard” and “Star Trek: Discovery” The third season, but it looks like all the necessary background information is delivered in Kelly and Lanzig cartoon. The only thing readers need to know is James T. Kirk, and well, we all know about him, right?
“Last Starship” is set to be debuting on September 24, 2025. It is the first of the new batch of “Star Trek” cartoons Idw Publishing, a line that also includes new stories inspired by “Star trek: Strange New Worlds” and “Star Trek: Voyager.” Once again, these stories are not canonic, but it has always been fun to speculate on countless “what if?” Scenarios. Cartoons, such as video games and novels, are just more stories with our favorite “Trek” characters, and we are happy with as many as possible.
