For a few minutes tense on Wednesday, X users were surprised to see one of these crypto “Airdrop” publications on Andreessen Horowitz’s blue check account. A second tweet said that $ 5 million had already been distributed.
This account has 851,000 subscribers. A member of the A16Z Crypto team saw the tweet and immediately displayed a warning not to commit. X quickly removed the post. Air parameters are generally used as means for cryptocurrencies to promote themselves.
A16Z tells Techcrunch and posted on the account: “Earlier in the day, our X account was briefly compromised.
Andreessen Horowitz is well known for his cryptographic investments. Because it is a company that likes crypto, jokes and warning tweets have stolen: the link would probably drain a cryptographic portfolio, not add to it. So, if it seems too beautiful to be true – like a VC giving precious assets – this is not true.
