I may have exaggerated the volume of driving this week, but the weather was beautiful, so it was fun. Last Tuesday, we did a group tour in the hills east of Gilroy who started at the entrance to the Mendoza Ranch at Harvey Bear Park. I usually take a ride up there from my friend’s house, but recently due to joint problems with SI, I couldn’t go up in a vertical position on this long ride, and I was afraid that my bed does not go into his vehicle. So I went up the bed at my place at the start, making it a total of 90 km (56 miles) for me (and 3 batteries). It was a great walk, however. From the valley to this time of year, it looks really dry in the East hills, and it’s always incredible how pretty it is when you get up. On Wednesday, I made one of my hard walks, 85 km in 3 hours 25 minutes, with just over two hours of live tempo followed by a few intervals and sprints. Thursday was a hard body session followed by an easy recovery race, then Friday, I went to a long trip in a lively rhythm of 3 hours 20 minutes. Yesterday was then an easy arm cycle and an easy recovery walk for a total of 70 minutes.
