An examination of the use of the conservative Thimérosal in vaccines should be presented Thursday in the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention of the External Vaccine Committee quotes a study which does not exist, according to the scientist listed as the author of the study.
The report, entitled “Thimérosal as a Vaccine Conservative” published on the CDC website on Tuesday, is to be presented by Lyn Redwood, former chief of defense of children for the anti-vaccin group.
He refers to a study entitled “Exposure to low-level neonatal thimerosal: long-term consequences in the brain”, published in the review Neurotoxicology in 2008, and co-written by the University of California, Professor Emeritus Robert Berman from the University of California.
But according to Berman, “this does not refer to a study that I published or carried out”.
Berman said that he had co -author a study named in a different journal in a different review – toxicological sciences – which have reached different conclusions from those suggested by Séquoia.
“We have not examined the effects of Thimérosal in microglia,” he said. “I do not approve of this false declaration of research.”
Pounds withdrawn from the presentation
Reuters is the first to report on the inaccurate quotation of the planned presentation of Redwood. Later Tuesday, the CDC downloaded a new version of the presentation of Redwood, by removing the slide citing the Berman study.

The United States Secretary, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., has deleted each member from a scientific committee who advises the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on vaccination. The specialist in infectious diseases, Dr. Isaac Bogoch, says that this decision lacks transparency and risks eroding public confidence in vaccines.
Kennedy, a longtime anti-vaccine activistfounded the defense of children’s health.
The presentation of the presentation suggests that there are enough vaccines against flu without Thimérosal and that all women, infants and pregnant children should only receive these blows. It was not clear if the new advisory committee would be invited to vote on such a decision.
The presentation of Redwood contrasts with a separate report published Tuesday on the CDC website which indicates that evidence does not support a link between vaccines containing thimérosal and autism or other neurodevelopmental disorders.
Kennedy has long pushed a link between vaccines and autism, which is contrary to scientific evidence.
Redwood could not be immediately joined to comment. A spokesperson for HHS said that the referenced study was that in toxicological sciences, which, according to Berman, was distorted.
Senators push to postpone the meeting
The American Republican Senator Bill Cassidy of Louisiana and the American Democratic Senator Patty Murray of Washington said that the meeting, scheduled for June 25 and 26, is expected to be postponed.
On Monday, Cassidy, who heads the US Senate, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee (aid), called for the meeting of La Réunion, saying that it should not take place with a relatively small panel and without director of the CDC in place.
Murray, the main member and former president of the aid committee, also asked that the members of the dismissed panel be reintegrated or that the meeting will be delayed until the new members are appropriately checked.
