Good news today “Friday 13th” -For fans, because for the first time we get a new movie with Jason Voorhees for the first time. The only bad news is that it is a short film and not a movie, but in more than 15 years without this franchise, beggars cannot be complainants. I’m one of those beggars myself, so I take what I can get.
As stated VarietyMike P. Nelson, “Incorrect Translation” (2021) Fameis intended to control “Sweet Revenge”, project – one marked “vignette” – which includes famous Camp Crystal Lake Killer “Friday 13.” fame. The short film comes from the people of Horror Inc., who own the rights to property and is part of the Jason World Last year. Although there are no special plot details available so far, production teases, “fans fall into a cold weekend in the woods full of soaked surprises in the blood, only Jason can deliver.”
Short production started earlier this month. It makes Nelson a busy man He is currently working on “Silent Night, Deadly Night” Cinnoverse. When talking about the new Jason Voorhees Short, Nelson had to say:
“I’m so grateful that the Horror, Inc. company team saw something” sweet in revenge “and wanted it as part of the Jason Voorhees story! And I thought 30 years ago, I was secretly trying to watch these films on VHS when no one was looking for. For you to write and direct one of these stories from Surreal – Johnson Auth, who is not in a beloved IP, is a comforting, brisk hug, reminding us why we fell in love with these movies.
The short is scheduled to make debut later this year on Jason Universe YouTube, as well as the website maintained by Angry Orchard Hard Cider.
“We were enthusiastic when Mike Nelson came to the ship and an angry orientated orchard sponsored production of the orchard helps us to evoke this life in an unexpected way,” added Sheror Connon, Marketing Director at Horror, Inc. “Even in a short vinjet, Nelson masterfully captures our common vision – respecting the Franchise heritage while deliver something fresh and exciting to the new generation.”
The existence of this short opens up some questions. First of all, why it does not have “Friday 13th” in the title? It dates back to the years of law that involves “Friday 13th” rightswhich is why we have not had a new film since 2009 renewal. In principle, screenwriter Victor Miller won the rights back to the original movie, but there is no Jason as a killer in the film. At the same time, director Sean S. Cunningham, who is part of the Horror Inc., is able to take advantage of much of what came in the sequels, including an adult Jason’s hockey mask.
This has very complex things in recent years. Horror Inc. may try to take advantage of Jason, but it cannot make a new movie and cannot use “Friday 13th” -name. It has been a bumpy riding and sometimes a bit strange, but if nothing else, for the first time in a long time, new “Friday 13th” ” -The goods are on their way. It must be considered a profit, albeit small for long -term fans.
When it comes to Jason’s universe, it was launched as a means of bringing Slasher back into the audience’s eye. Jason is now coming to Halloween Horror Nights, and Greg Nicotero even made a new Jason design. This short is part of the whole thing, like the upcoming “Crystal Lake” series for Peacock (who has had his share of problems to get out of the field, but in the end is currently being photographed).
“Sweet Revenge” is currently not a release date, but stay tuned.
