Russia has launched its greatest air attack on Ukraine overnight, a Ukrainian official said on Sunday, part of an increasing bombing campaign who still presumed hopes of a breakthrough in efforts to end the three -year war.
Russia has drawn a total of 537 air weapons in Ukraine, including 477 drones and lures and 60 missiles, said Ukraine Air Force. Among these, 249 were killed and 226 were lost, having probably been stuck electronically.
Ukraine has lost its third fighter plane F-16 since the start of the war while pushing the attack, the army said.
Yuriy Ihnat, head of communications at Ukraine’s Air Force, told the Associated Press that the night assault was “the most massive air strike” on the country, taking into account drones and various types of missiles. The attack targeted the regions through Ukraine, including western Ukraine, far from the front line.
Russia again intensified its air attacks against Ukraine during the weekend, targeting more than 30 cities and cities with missiles and drones, including the capital when it celebrated kyiv day. The attacks have killed at least a dozen people, including some children, according to Ukrainian officials.
Industrial installations were affected in the Ukrainian Ukrainian regions of Ukrainian and the Dnipropetrovsk center, according to officials.
Local authorities have published photos of houses on several floors with charred walls and broken windows and rescuers evacuating residents.
The Governor of the Lviv region west of the country said the attack was aimed at critical infrastructure. However, he did not report on the consequences.
The countries of Poland and the Allies scrambled the planes to ensure the security of Polish airspace, the Polish Air Force said on Sunday.
One person died during a drone strike in the Kherson region, said Governor Oleksandr Prokudin, while another was killed when a drone hit a car in the Kharkiv region, according to its governor Oleh Syniehubov. Six people were injured in Cherkasy, including one child, according to regional governor Ihor Taburets.
The new attacks follow Russian President Vladimir Putin saying on Friday that Moscow was ready for a new series of direct peace talks in Istanbul. However, the war shows no signs of slowdown, because international peace efforts led by the United States has so far produced any breakthrough. Two recent series of talks between the Russian and Ukrainian delegations in Istanbul have been brief and have produced no progress to reach a regulation.
Long -range drone strikes were a characteristic of war, now in its fourth year. The race by both parties to develop increasingly sophisticated and murderous drones has transformed the conflict into a testing field for new weapons.
