Paul Simon was forced to cancel a series of concerts on Saturday after suffering an injury.
THE “You can call me al” singer was “struggling with chronic and intense back pain”, which forced the cancellation of shows on the East Coast.
Simon, 83, will undergo a minor surgical intervention in the “next days”, according to a position shared on his Instagram account.

The declaration continued: “Unfortunately, we must cancel these emissions at the moment, because we do not have the possibility of reprogramming them. However, we hope after this minor surgical procedure which has been scheduled for the coming days, Paul will be able to finish the visit and seek to return to compensate for these dates.”

It is not known when Simon will postpone the concerts, and the spectators were encouraged to contact their local ticket suppliers for a full refund.

The musician “Diamonds on the soles of her shoes” announced her tour “A Quiet Celebrations” in February, to coincide with her album “Seven Psalms”. The tour started in April and was to end in Seattle in August.

In May 2023, Simon realized that most of the audience in his left ear had disappeared while he created the album.
“Suddenly, I lost most of the hearing in my left ear, and no one has an explanation. So everything has become more difficult,” Simon told Times.
“My reaction to this was frustration and embarrassment; not yet completely angry, because I thought it would pass, he would repair himself.”
In 2018, Simon announced that he was go from the tour. In an article on social networks, he wrote: “I think that the trip and time far from my wife and my family weigh who harms the joy of playing,” adding, “feels a little disturbing, an exhilarating touch and something relief”.

His wife over 30, Edie Brickell sang a duo with him in the last section of “Seven Psalms”, which includes the lyrics, “Heaven is beautiful / It’s almost like the house / children, is preparing / it’s time to go home.”
The couple share three children: Adrian Edward, Lulu and Gabriel Elijah.

Simon was previously married at the end Carrie Fisher. The couple met in the late 1970s but did not marry until August 1983. They divorced less than a year later, in July 1984.
