Bulgarians protest government's plan to adopt the euro

A few days before Bulgaria became the 21st member of the euro zone, the moving opponents prepared on Saturday for a final battle to change the calendar. Thousands of demonstrators gathered in a central place in downtown Sofia to protest the government plans to adopt the euro and demand a referendum on the new currency. The European Union gave the green light so that Bulgaria adopted the Euro from January 1.
