Increased global exhibition 2025 will attract more than 6,000 participants, 400 speakers and 300 world exhibitors at its event from June 10 to June 12 in Long Beach, California.
The range of speakers includes the CEO of Snap Evan Spiegel, the co-founder of Atari Nolan Bushnell and the founder of Oculus / Andundil Palmer Luckey. If the show is an indication, the XR industry does not hurt. A variety of market researchers provide for rapid growth in industry until 2030. Ori Inbar, CEO of AWE, believes that the XR revolution is “ready to conquer the dominant current”. But to get there, he thinks that the industry still has to create “return content in mind that must be experienced”.
Of course, the hot red days of the “metavership”, inspired by the novel of snow science fiction of Neal Stephenson in 1992, only does industry only does industry. With less concentration on science fiction, industry focuses on practical uses of mixed reality technology on business and consumption markets such as games.
But will XR and Metavesese be invaded by AI, or will they carry them towards the destination of the mass market?
Many rises on how the meta of Mark Zuckerberg will be engaged, even if it restarted certain XR resources at AI. Meta, who acquired the Oculus of Luckey in 2014, has invested billions each quarter in technology, without any benefit so far. But, in a very unexpected turnaround, Zuckerberg and Luckey buried the ax on the past differences and set up an alliance between Meta and Andundil – the latter being the AI / Drone Defense Society of Luckey.
Zuckerberg has a new competition from his own Namesis, Apple, who launched the Apple Vision Pro In February 2024. However, Apple slowed down its development of the new generation XR helmet, while Zuckerberg put more emphasis on AR / AI glasses.
Spiegel, the CEO of Snap, focused on augmented reality glasses. His shows are now in their fifth generation, fueled by the Snap OS and the Studio of objective of creation tool.
Nolan Bushnell, founder of Atari and Chuck E. Cheese, will pronounce a unique conversation on the main scene with five of his children, who continue his pioneer vision in the game via XR. Brent Bushnell, Nolan’s eldest son, recently made his debut DreamparkA new XR startup that transforms any park or playground into mixed reality theme parks.
Other speakers include Vicki Dobbs Beck – VP, immersive content innovation, Lucasfilm & Ilm immersive; Ziad Asghar – SVP & GM XR, Qualcomm; Brian McClendon – Technology Director, Niantic Space, Inc.; Jason Rubin – VP, Metaverse Experiences, Meta; Hugo Swart, principal director of strategy and technology of the XR ecosystem, Google; Jacqui Bransky – VP web3 & innovation, Warner Records; Chi xu – CEO and founder, xreal; Helen Papagiannis – Ar Pioneer and XR Hall of Famer; And Tom Furness – VR grandfather and founder, Virtual World Society.
Awe Builders Nexus will be a new program focused on startups this year. The founders of startup, developers, designers, product managers and business leaders will obtain the resources they need to create something extraordinary, obtain advice and funding, evolve through partnerships and winning customers, said Inbar. The event will also set off the AWE game center.
I also interviewed certain companies that have technology at the show. Here are some extracts from what they will show.
Pico started in Beijing, China, in 2015 and now reached its 10th anniversary. He made Pico XR headsets, and he was acquired by Bytedance, the owner of Tiktok, in 2021. In September 2024, the company launched the Pico 4 Ultra Enterprise helmet, filling the high end of its range of products in addition to its G3 and Neo 3 Legacy helmets.
Pico also has its set of full body movement trackers to its product offers to allow complete monitoring of the body and objects. This helps him focus on entertainment based on localization on markets such as China. It focuses on WiFi7, hand monitoring and monitoring of movements.
Leland Hedges, manager of Pico companies, said the LBE market in China has increased by 1,000% in the last six to nine months Pico has an application for PC streaming and another application to manage devices on a LAN. Pico can follow game spaces with columns or curly areas. Hedges said that the company would share 15 different users at AWE in public places such as zoos, museums, aquariums and planetariums.
Purnendu Mukherjee, CEO of Convoy, showed me a bunch of demos at the conference of game developers where he was able to create Demos Avatar of generative AI solutions with 3D animated people. These can be used to show brands and greet people on websites or as avatars in games.
At AWE, Convoy will also share the learning and training of scenarios for education and businesses through a variety of simulations. Convoy can make high fidelity avatars that effectively come from the cloud. At GDC, Convoy scanned me and captured my voice so that he could create a realistic avatar of me. These avatars can be created quickly and answer a variety of questions from the website visitors. The idea is to allow non -technical people to create simulations without having to code anything.
In a demo, the avatar of convinces of me said: “I have covered the game industry for many years now among games, I have seen it evolve from arcades to the massive global phenomenon that it is today. I love to dig in the commercial side of the game, technology, culture, the whole shebang. ” Convoy will announce the prices of its self-service platform as well as corporate subscription costs.
Ohto Pentikäinen, CEO of DoublePoint, has a technology that detects the gesture you can do with your hand. It captures this movement via a smartwatch and allows you to control things on a TV interface or an XR device. With Android XR, DoublePoint shows demos where gesture control can unlock a more intuitive and comfortable augmented reality experience for those who wear AR glasses. XREAL is one of the manufacturers of glasses that uses technology to control an AR user interface with gestures.
“Our technology is able to fully control an XR system. A statistic on which we can update you is that there are 150,000 people who have downloaded the technology so far, and we have a community of developers of more than 2,000 people since January 2024,” said Pentikäinen.
Now the company is launching its own double -proposed developer program, which adds layers in addition to the corporate client. So now, the company can provide technology to independent developers or startups that build augmented reality or AI equipment experiences.
“We are empowering the developers of AR robotics and AI equipment, and we provide everything we provide to business customers, but at a very small price,” said Pentikäinen.
