There are a lot of wireless headphones in the world today. In fact, at this exact moment, there is no less (count ’em) three pairs in my coat’s pocket at the moment while I type these words. It is a lot of headphones for a person, and this figure only becomes ridiculous only when you consider the three pairs of wireless headphones come from a single company – and they were all released at the same time.
This company in question is CMF, which is a sub-brand of the Audio company that has become audio, nothing. Last month CMF has published three different pairs of wireless headphones-THE 2A budsTHE Buds 2and the Buds 2 Plus. If you say to yourself: “it seems excessive”, then I agree with you, but hold your judgment until the end because things are about to become even more complicated.
The three of these wireless headphones have different prices; All three have different levels of active noise cancellation (ANC); And all three have different pilots. This means that, as you are about to learn, all three offer a different listening experience, which means that you should know what you are committed to before launching the dice and buying a pair. But where do you start? The specification sheets are useful, but they only bring you so far. It is the experience of using them – the real noticeable that decibes on a graph may not portray – it really counts. If only there was someone who spent time trying the three to tell you the pair you need and that you can potentially forget …
Cmf by nothing buds 2 plus
The CMF 2 Plus buds may be the most expensive on the pack, but they are always the most up to the base. Believe me, you will hear the difference – I have certainly done it.
Pros
Robust bass
Good dynamic beach
Affordable
Disadvantages
No orange color
Sound similar to buds 2
In case you have not obtained my not so subtle index, I tried the three new pairs of cmf wireless headphones to give you the answer to your burning question: what pair of buds 2 should you get? The answer may not surprise you, but before arriving at my experience and my comparison, let’s start at first. What’s going on with these wireless headphones?
First of all, at the lowest, There are the buds 2athat I obtained in this attractive orange color that the 2 most unfortunately do not come. Naturally, these wireless headphones have the lowest level of everything in the specifications, and they also have the lowest price. 2A buds have 42 Decibels of noise cancellation, a 12.4 mm bio-fiber pilot, and 5 hours of battery life with ANC and 8 hours with ANC OFF. They sell at a very reasonable price of $ 49.
SO, There is the child in the middle: the buds 2Who, if you followed, have slightly high specifications and a slightly higher price, although there is in fact a large warning on this front that I will arrive in a moment. Buds 2 have 48 noise cancellation decibels, 11 mm PMI pilots improved by adjusting Dirac Opteo and 7.5 hours of battery life with ANC and 13.5 hours with ANC. Here is where things become interesting; They generally sell to a bonus of $ 10 compared to 2A buds (it’s $ 59), but to date, they are $ 10 in discounts, making it the same price of $ 49.
Finally, there are the buds 2 PlusWho are the cream of the CMF proverbial cream by the most recent programming of nothing (forgetting the Buds 2 Pro which was released last year for a moment) which, in my opinion now, the highest price. Buds 2 Plus have 50 adaptive noise cancellation decibels (only slightly higher than buds 2 but with a range of frequencies of 5,400 Hz as opposed to the 5200 Hz range of the old), a pilot in polymer with liquid crystals of 12 mm and 7.5 hours of ANC reading out of the case and 14 hours of non -effective play. As I referred, are the most expensive of the three pairs at $ 69.
Okay, do you have all that? Stay with me now! The range, with its names, looks and light similar variations in features and its prices, is confusing, and there is no way to get around this. Do not worry, however, for the good of everyone (including me), we are going to put it all aside for a moment and to put us in brass: what do these things look like? On this front, I have good and bad news.
I have been using CMF budget wireless buds for a few weeks, and honestly, I didn’t know what to expect. Sometimes you really get what you pay (see: this Pair of disjected but frankly bad pocket pairs I examined from Jlabs) and sometimes the cheapest option is actually the best (see: Nothing of the ear (a) wireless headphones). Due to this variability, I entered the trio of cmf wireless buds with an open mind, but ultimately, I was surprised by what I found.
As a test, I listened to the same song (The bloody of Valentine’s Day “only superficial”) with each pair, consecutive to the back and under the same conditions – a fairly quiet area of the Gizmodo office. Starting first with the most upscale pair, The Buds 2 Plus, I dropped until I hit the Buds 2A.

So let’s start from above: CMF 2 Plus buds It sounds great. There is a dynamic range, and the cancellation of noise, but no world class, is solid enough for your metro journey (an environment in which I also tested the three buds). Frankly, I think they are almost as nice as the ear of nothing (a), which is probably my favorite pair of wireless headphones for value and design. Overall, I am a fan of CMF 2 Plus buds. I would not choose them as my “daily driver”, so to speak, just because I more like the ceramic driver on the wireless earphones of nothing and their transparent design, but if I had to use them, I would not be crazy about quality.
Then I tried the CMF Buds 2The child in the middle, who, although pleasant, did not quite sing like the buds 2 more. They do just as good work of bass simulation, but they are certainly a little more muddy compared to their counterparts at premium prices. The ANC, as I suspected, on the basis of the level of cancellation of the noise stated in the CMF specification sheets, was almost the same as the 2 plus, which is good, but if you are looking for the highest loyalty, the 2 plus wins this tour.
Then there is the baby –CMF 2A buds. This is where I noticed the greatest progress. Although the price is very accessible, these buds sound the smallest in the range and bring the lowest level of noise cancellation. It was more difficult to notice when I tested the wireless buds anecdotally and randomly on my morning journey, but I am not a big fan of the dynamic range or the cancellation of noise on the 2A buds. I would say that you get what you pay, but these buds now cost the same as the Buds 2, and the mid -range pair is better for no jumps and limits.
These are therefore non -scientific conclusions. In this case, Buds 2 Plus justify the premium price, and although Buds 2 are usable, they certainly do not provide the same quality. You can forget everything on the buds 2A because they do not deliver near the sound quality of Buds 2, which are now the Same price. But to be sure not to let the knowledge of the price affect my judgment, I did a blind test to see if I could really hear the difference, and especially my impressions remained the same.
In a blinded eye listening test, I was able to correctly identify the three different wireless buds six times in a row on two different styles of songs (rock and hip-hop), although there are frequencies where the difference is more difficult to notice, like more “cinematographic” music with less frequencies to follow. The 2A buds are a dead gift with their tiny, almost hollow sound, and buds 2 and buds 2 Plus are certainly more difficult to differentiate, but still have enough breeds in most genres – Buds 2 and generally have a better bass and a more complete sound profile.
Although I don’t like to be Upsold about anything, sometimes in this world, you get what you pay, and CMF wireless headphones are not different. My advice is that if you can afford the bonus of $ 20 compared to Buds 2 and Buds 2A, then you should pay it – get the Buds 2 Plus. There is not much difference with a perspective of the ANC, but sound quality, the Buds 2 Plus gain their name with premium consonance, and they are still (if we are in the mind to compare) $ 50 cheaper than the Nothing Ear and $ 10 cheaper than the ear (A).
