Clint Eastwood’s star career has given the world so many high quality films that even with the most dedicated Clintstorians it can be difficult to name them all from the cuff. He has collected enough awards to fill several trophies and enough pedigree More controversial films have no problem finding new fans when they hit Netflix.
Nonetheless, there are certain places where you can’t watch your favorite Eastwood movie, at least if the movie happens to be “Sully”. The 2016 biographical drama subject of Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger (reproduced in Tom Hanks in the Hanks) emergency traveler’s airplane has apparently (and fair, understandably) caused concern among airlines.
The adaptation of “The Miracle On On The Hudson” became a hot potato for entertainment during the flight, and Virgin Atlantic is happy to add to the film’s choice, but many others turn it away, because in short, movies from passenger machinery can be a bit wet when you look at them on a passenger plane. In particular, even American Airlines – which really helped make the movie by closing several gates to shoot at Laguardia Airport in New York – decided to show “Sully” during the flight.
This is not really the first time that Eastwood’s career has experienced some push from a government or business community (or vice versa). “Heartbreak Ridge”, his 1986 war movie, soldiers loved but the government hated themWith a clearly similar shade as critics loved by the aviation movie, but avoiding airlines. In the case of “Heartbreak Ridge”, the Marines expressed their dissatisfaction with Eastwood character Tom Highway, but the soldiers who had met such officers announced that they would enjoy the realism of the film.
The actress director has also played “Nuh UH” on the other side of the table. Eastwood banned Coca-Cola products from his films In the 1980s, after he and Columbia (who were owned by a soft drink) had a disagreement about the “Karate” child.
Of course, such things are, but small wrinkles on a career that covers several decades on both sides of the camera and has received at least four Academy awards. Still, it is sometimes good to remember that even the most experienced and celebrated A-list actresses can hit some of the many strange speed pits that come in a strange, strange area because of their livelihoods.
