Since its creation in 1984 by Alexey Pajitnov, Tetris has become a global cultural phenomenon, with more than 520 million units sold and an inheritance which shows no sign of slowdown. To celebrate, I modeled a conversation by the fire yesterday with Henk Rogers, the man who brought Tetris to the world, to Los Angeles to our Gamesbeat hires event with Xsolla.

Rogers noted yesterday that he was optimistic about Tetris as a esport.

The emblematic puzzle game has new heights with the launch of Red Bull Tetris, a world tournament open to 18 -year -old players and more of all skill levels. Global qualifications are now live here.
