Resident Evil: Requiem takes the franchise back to Raccoon City

The “One More Thing” revealed during the Fest Summer Game of this year was a trailer for the last match of the Resident Evil – Resident Evil 9 series, or Resident Evil: Requiem. The trailer drops some details on the characters and the decor of the game, including the series will apparently come back to the bad town of Raccoon City, while the emptied remains of its police station make an appearance in the trailer. The game should be launched on February 27, 2026.

Capcom and the producer of the Jun Takeuchi series initially declared that the next game of the series would need more time to be revealed – but that “more time” apparently meant only 20 minutes more, because the trailer for Reveal dropped at the end of the show. The cinematographic trailer follows an FBI agent named Grace, who is investigating a series of mysterious deaths, including that of his mother – his mother being the journalist of the Resident Evor river, Alyssa Ashcroft.

The trailer does not reveal much else, except the release date of the game and that it launches on PC and consoles, and that it is a solo game. It also includes more visuals showing what remains of the City connecting after being naked at the end of Resident Evil 3. The series has so far not returned to the zombified city outside the remakes and remixes of the Resident Evils 1-3 games.
