With the release of Monday of iOS 26 beta 2, Apple solved one of the most flagrant problems with Liquid Glass, his Design of the new division user interface For the iPhone, the iPad and other Apple devices, announced earlier this month at its WWDC 2025.
The updated user interface modernizes the appearance and sensation of the operating system with a design system inspired by the optical qualities of the glass, including the way in which it refracts light and its translucidity.
However, the first iOS 26 testers, a little unfairly, quickly underlined the faults with the updated look in the developer’s first beta. Although the beta version is not yet over, users have shared screenshots and criticized areas where liquid glass has not succeeded in terms of readability and conviviality.
One of the largest concerns of users concerned how the liquid glass made the control center (the menu accessible by sliding on the right side of the iPhone screen) almost illegible. Due to its semi-transparent nature, it was difficult to differentiate the buttons and sliders from the icon control center and widgets from the iPhone home screen that appeared below.
In the newly published beta version, Apple tackled the problem with the control center by adjusting the background blur, which better obscures the contents of the home screen below.
Notifications in the first beta version were also difficult to read, as many had pointed out. In the updated beta version, they are a little clearer but always need work, especially for readability on brighter and lighter backgrounds.
These are probably the final adjustments, since iOS 26 does not start publicly before fall. However, these are indications that Apple actively listen to the first comments of users and makes adjustments accordingly.
Also in beta 2Apple has added an accessibility section to the product pages of the App Store, activated iCloud Sync for the application of Journalization on iPads, added command monitoring features to Apple Wallet, introduced an Apple Music radio widget, etc.
