Apple’s new Workout Buddy helps you sweat smarter

Apple launched During his WWDC 2025 conference Buddy training, an AI training coach. The AI tool collects data from your current training and your fitness history – including steps, recorded miles, closed activity rings and training load – to train through real -time training sessions.

Combined with Apple intelligence on iPhoneWorkout Buddy relies on a vocal text model to translate encouragement into a fun generative voice that looks like a fitness coach. In fact, the generative voice is built using fitness + trainers’ vocal data – people who lead training in Apple Fitness + App + App and Studio. Users can choose from several voices to find the right one for them.

The Apple Watch training application and the iPhone will also update so that it starts with an encouragement speech once you start a race. It will also mark moments, like when you travel four miles, if your last mile is the fastest to date, and what is your average heart rate. At the end of training, AI gives you an overview of your average pace, your heart rate and if you have crossed additional milestones, such as your first 10 km price.

Workout Buddy will be available in English through the most popular types of training.

While Apple reiterated through WWDC throughout WWDC, Buddy training is “personal and private”.

In addition, Apple says that it gives the Apple Watch training application a new arrangement, with features such as personalized training and the racing road “just a tap”. There are also new media features integrated into the music application. Users can allow Apple Music to choose the best reading list depending on their training or preferences, or users can select reading lists or suggested podcasts depending on what they have listened to or the type of training.
