Like thousands of other Palestinians in Gaza, Hind Al-Nawajha makes a dangerous and long trip in kilometers every day to try to get food for her family, hoping that she will come back alive.
Accompanied by her sister, Mazouza, the mother of four had to bend down and hide behind a bunch of rubble on the side of the road while shots echo nearby.
“Either you come back by transporting [food] For your children and they will be happy, or you will return to a shroud. Or you go back upset [without food] And your children will cry, “said Nawajha, 38, a resident of Beit Lahiya, north of Gaza.
“It’s life; we are shot, we can no longer do it.”
Over the past two days, dozens of Palestinians have been killed by Israeli fires while trying to get food from the Enclave by the United Nations and international emergency agencies, said Gaza Medics.
On Thursday, doctors said that at least 51 people had been killed by Israeli shots and military strikes, including 12 people who tried to approach a site operated by Gaza Humaninian Foundation (GHF) supported by the United States in the Gaza Central Strip, the latest daily killings of people in search of food.
The Israeli army said there had been several attempts to “suspect” to approach the forces in the field of Netzarim in a way that endangered them. He said the forces had shot warning to prevent suspects from approaching, and he was currently not aware of injuries in the incident.
In an email, GHF criticized Gazan’s health officials, accusing them of regularly disclosing inaccurate information.
The GHF said that the Palestinians do not access the GHF site nearby via the netzarim corridor. He did not answer questions about whether the GHF was aware that such an incident had happened.
Thirty-nine people were killed, in the meantime, in Israeli air strikes distinct in the Northern Gaza Strip, the doctors said. One of these strikes killed at least 19 people in a tent at the Al-Shati refugee camp in Gaza City, they added.
Heba Ziada, 32, said her sister was killed during the Al-Shati strike, who struck the entrance to a market in the refugee camp.
“My sister was 14 years old. What did she hurt?” Ziada told CBC News freelance videographer on Thursday, Mohamed El Saife.
Another strike killed at least 14 people and damaged several houses in Jabaliya in the north of the enclave, the doctors said.
There was no immediate commentary on the Israeli army on these attacks.
In recent days, the Israeli army has declared that its forces had opened fire and drawn warning plans to disperse the people who approached areas where the troops operated, constituting a threat. He said he was examining victim relationships among civilians.
Israel has channeled a large part of the aid it now enables the new GHF supported by the United States and the GHF, which operates a handful of distribution sites in areas guarded by Israeli forces.
The Gaza Ministry of Health said hundreds of Palestinians have been killed while trying to reach GHF sites since the end of May.
The United Nations reject the GHF delivery system as inadequate, dangerous and a violation of the rules of humanitarian impartiality. Israel says it is necessary to prevent Hamas fighters from diverting aid, which Hamas denies.
On Wednesday, the GHF said in a statement that it had distributed three million meals on three of its help sites without incident.
According to doctors, at least 20 people were killed and 200 others injured in Israeli fire near a Rafah aid distribution site, doctors said. Deaths are the latest mass shots that have killed at least 300 Palestinians in recent weeks, according to the Gaza Ministry of Health, while they are trying to access food thanks to the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation distribution system supported by the United States.
The Gaza War was launched when activists from Palestinian Hamas attacked Israel on October 7, 2023, killing 1,200 people and taking 251 hostages, according to Israeli accounts.
The military assault of Israel against Gaza killed nearly 55,600 Palestinians, according to the Gaza Ministry of Health, while moving almost the entire population of more than two million and causing a hunger crisis.
The Norwegian Refugee Council warned Thursday that more than a million people were adequate shelter in Gaza, saying that equipment such as tents and tarpaulins had been blocked by Israel to enter since March 1.
Nawajha returned empty -handed on Wednesday from his trip to find food, moving exhausted on dusty soil outside the Gaza City tent, where she was moved and sheltered with her family.
She and her sister have been camping on the road for 20 days. They say that they try to make their way on the distribution site where trucks arrive with help, but are often overwhelmed by men, who sometimes fight on bags of flour that came out of the UN trucks.
“”[When] There is no food, as you can see, children start to cry and get angry, “said Nawajha.” When we are for three, four kilometers or more on our legs … Oh my … our feet are bruised and our shoes are torn off. “”
