Now that Trump is in office, launching his own crypto companies and requesting legislation establishing regulations on digital assets (light) to appear on his desk by August, the votes of his supporters drew those of bitcueners who warn how the abandonment of crypto principles could endanger their community.

But the appearance of Ulbricht at the conference is paradoxical: his anti-state feeling was sanctioned by the very state that he wanted to go around.
“The impression that people have is that Bitcoins simply care about money,” said Ulbricht’s mother, Lyn, who has been witnessing the Bitcoin conference for years to release her son, said: “But many are idealistic and attentive.” A movement of donors and large and small activists in Bitcoin, Crypto and Libertarian communities released her son from prison, she says.
When Ulbricht goes to the main scene, tagged and assured of him in a long red tie, he does not thank Trump directly (he is “grateful for having elected him”). He also does not thank Bailey for his plea, or even his mother for his tireless efforts. He thanks the public, whom he urges to “remain faithful to our principles” – freedom, decentralization and, he underlines, unity. “It is more important than ever,” he says, while Bitcoin’s popularity spreads.
