Amnestly International called on the Nigerian government to do more to stop attacks in Benue state.
At least 100 people were killed in a Nigerian city in the north of the North Center following a night attack by armed men, while Amnesty International called on the government to end “almost daily blood efforts in the state of Benue”.
The attack, which occurred at the end of Friday to Saturday morning, took place in Yelwata, a city in the state of Benue, according to Amnesty.
“Amnesty International documented the alarming climbing attacks Through the state of Benue where armed men made a murder tour with impunity. These attacks have caused massive trips and can affect food security because the majority of victims are farmers, “wrote the group of rights on X.
“The inability of the Nigerian authorities to stem violence costs people’s lives and livelihoods, and without immediate action, many more lives can be lost,” said the organization, adding that many people were still lacking in the attack.
Nigerian authorities must immediately put an end to the almost daily blood effusions in the state of Benue and translate the real perpetrators to justice.

Tersoo Kula, spokesperson for the State Governor’s office, told AFP news agency earlier that the attack lasted approximately two hours and a “number of houses [were] burned ”.
He added that government representatives and police officials had visited Yelwata and “confirmed” a 45 death report.
Police spokesman Udeme Edet confirmed the attack on AFP and said the police had engaged the attackers in a shooting.
But the inhabitants told AFP that they feared that more than 100 people were killed in the attack.
“It’s terribly bad, many people are dead,” said Amineh Liapha Hir, a city resident. “It could be more than 100, and many houses have also been burned,” added Hir.
Another resident, Christian Msuega, said that he had escaped the attack, but his sister and brother-in-law died after being burned alive.
In the region, the attacks are common as local assemblies, mainly Muslim Ethnic Fulani and farmers, many of whom are Christian, compete on the limited access to land and water.
Last month, armed men who would be breeders killed at least 20 people in the Gwer West region in Benue.
