The Palestinians looking for help continue to be killed near the distribution sites operated by the Gaza Humaninian Foundation.
At least 35 Palestinians were killed and several others injured by Israeli fires while waiting for humanitarian aid near the Corridor of Netzarim, in the Gaza Central Strip, sources at Al-Awda Hospital told Al Jazeera.
The Israeli jets also bombed a house west of Deir El-Balah in the center of Gaza, killing at least eight people and injuring more.
The Gaza hospitals said that at least 50 Palestinians had been killed on Friday by the Israeli army.
The Israeli attacks against hungry Palestinians near aid centers have killed hundreds of people since Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) began distributions May 27.
The dark group supported by the United States is responsible for distributing assistance supplies critical By the United Nations for its “inability” to ensure the safe delivery of supplies in Gaza, where assistance agencies warned that the whole population is faced with the threat of famine after Israel imposed a total blockade from the beginning of March in late May.
Ismail Al-Thawabta, director general of the Gaza Government’s media office, said on Thursday that the total number of assistance seekers killed at 409, and 3,203 others were injured.
UNICEF warned that the Gaza strip was also faced with an artificial drought as its water systems collapsed.
“Children will start to die of thirst,” spokesman James Elder said on Friday in Geneva. “Only 40% of drinking water production facilities remain functional.”
The United Nations agency warned that the GHF distribution system “aggravated a desperate situation”.
Elder, who was recently in Gaza, said that he had had many testimonies from women and injured children when he was trying to receive food aid, including a young boy injured by a tank shell and who died later from his injuries.
He said that the public’s lack of clarity at the moment when the sites, some of which are in combat areas, were open caused mass events.
“There have been cases where information [was] Shared that a site is open, but it is then communicated on social networks that they are closed, but that the information was shared when the Internet of Gaza was broken and that people had no access, “he said.
On Wednesday, the GHF said in a statement that it had distributed three million meals on three of its help sites without incident.
