Share a summary of our experience with the Gluten -free food visit of Barcelona.
Hi friends! How are you doing? I hope you spend a great week. We like to be back home even if we definitely miss our adventures in Spain. After 5 weeks in Europe, I definitely got used to this life 😉
Something we learned during our trip: how much we liked Barcelona. It was our first time and as the pilot was not able to go to the part of the trip – he was there during the last four days of our time there – we told him that we have to go back.
A major highest point: The gluten -free food visit, directed by Dvir Bar.
As you know, we are major gourmets and love to check the new foods and restaurants locally and when we travel. I have been a strict gluten -free for two years now as part of my healing journey, and in January, we learned that P had a severe sensitivity to gluten. Although I have been around the gluten -free block for some time, p always learns .. and is sometimes (very understandable) disappointed when there is no gluten -free option for it.
To brighten up his day in Barcelona, I did research for gluten -free options and I discovered that Barcelona is a paradise for gluten -free food options and that they had a popular gluten -free food visit. I registered us instantly.
When the day arrived, p and I were quite pumped on this subject. Liv was a good sport and excited to try new foods.
Our guide, DVir, was absolutely wonderful. He spoke English (our group of 11 people were all American) and has been celiac for 40 years. He knew the best of Barcelona’s best places and took us to six different places for incredible gluten -free options. We had chocolate, jamón, ice cream on gluten -free cones, pizzas, pastries, empanadas, it was incredible.
I loved the way the tour was installed. We walked all the time, and when we arrived at each place, they had several samples to try. At the Pizza restaurant, our table had five complete pizzas of the best flavors. It gave us the opportunity to try a lot of different things, and we were very full and happy at the end.
Although I don’t want to spoil the surprises of the tour, here are my first three places that we have visited:
Chicken and onion were everything…. I’m going to dream of Empanada until we are back.
Look at this face. Pure joy.
We tried an assortment of gluten -free pastries, including Nutella croissants who released my soul. Usually the GF pastries are disappointing and they were light, tasty and perfectly sweet.
Pizza is another thing that often disappoints me in the gluten -free world. It is generally super crunchy, soft and / or bland. It was real pizza and we were able to try incredible flavors. I also had my first beer for years !! I think he said they had 40 different types of gluten -free beer?!
If you are celiac or gluten -free for health reasons, or if you like food and want to try new places, I cannot recommend this visit. Head that he reserves in advance, so reserve your place as soon as you know that you are going to Barcelona. The link is there!
And just a downstream, it’s not sponsored or something like that and I paid our participation with pleasure. Just happy to pass the word!
So tell me, friends: what is your favorite gastronomic destination?
Gluten -free friends: what is your favorite local kitchen or local gluten -free restaurant?
xoxo
