Testing the offices is sort of a subjective game. Like desktop chairs, tests are based on comfort, reliability and ease of configuration rather than on the things you can test in electronics such as the power and use of the battery. I have always tested each rigorously and I will continue to test them for longevity in the coming months.
I tested these offices by asking three people to try each. Each of them used the office for at least 16 hours and then gave me its impressions. The three people measured 6 feet, 1 inch in height; 5 feet, 8 inches high; And 5 feet, 4 inches high respectively, to give me a good transverse cut of the average height of the user.
Configuration time and package quality
Construction offices can often be difficult and long. For each office, I timed the time it took to unpack and gather, and I noted if the manual was easy to follow. I followed the instructions as closely as possible so that each construction was carried out as if I had never built before. I also checked the packaging, to make sure it was not damaged, and if it was secure enough to transport the office there was. Any damage was noted and images were sent to the manufacturers for examination.
Structural integrity
Modern offices must be able to gain a good amount of weight. If you are at an office, you may have a small laptop, but if you use a game office, it probably has two monitors and a giant game PC. For each office, I checked the maximum load specification and tried to match this with the materials that we really use on our offices.
I used:
- A heavy pc tower
- Two 27 -inch game monitors on a double -monitoring arm
- A MacBook Pro
- Two different keyboards and matching mouse and trackpads
- My Oculus Quest 2
- My phone stand and my USB hub
- A podcasting microphone and headphones
Depending on the length and weight capacity of the office, I mix and match these items, then I check any incorporation of the top or inconsistencies in the way the office felt while I worked.
Wibble-Lobes
It’s a bit of a backward when my father made furniture. All that my father built would be criticized by my mother, and if it did not pass, she said: “It’s a bit annoying, isn’t it, my dear?” Once I built each office and loaded it for normal use, I would check it for Wibble-Wobbles. This means switching it from one side to the other and in front and back to check that all the screws, bolts and lights have kept everything rigid.
