King Charles III and other members of the royal family in uniform wore black armbands and observed a moment of silence during his annual birthday parade on Saturday to commemorate those who died this week Air India airplane accident.

The king asked for symbolic movements “as a mark of respect for lost lives, families of mourning and all the communities affected by this terrible tragedy,” said the palace of Buckingham.

The annual annual parade of the monarch, known as the herd of color, is a historic ceremony filled with ceremonies and military groups in which the King reviews his troops on the parade of horse guards adjacent to St. James in the center of London.
The military ceremony dates back to a time when the battalion flags, known as colors, were “traced”, or shown, to the soldiers in the rows so that they can recognize them.

Charles’ mother, Queen Elizabeth II, held a similar moment of silence in 2017 when the herd of color took place three days after a fire torn the Grenfell tower Congress of apartments in western London, killing 72 people.
The former football star in England David Beckham, the Oscar -winning actor Gary Oldman and the singer of renowned musicals Elaine Paige were one of the celebrities and public figures which were honored by King Charles III before the herd of color festivities.
Beckham, Goldman and the WHO leader, Roger Daltrey, were brought up easels by the king, while Paige, the novelist winner of the Brooker Prize, Pat Barker and the former government conservative minister Penny Mordaunt, received Damehood, the female equivalent of a chivalry.
The honors, which aim to reward individuals for their contributions to British life, are awarded twice a year to celebrities and public figures as well as ordinary people: once in the New Year, then in June to mark the king’s birthday.
The winners are chosen by the committees of civil servants according to the appointments of the government and the public. The prices are generally awarded by the king or a royal senior acting in his place at the Buckingham Palace.

“Having grown up in eastern London with parents and grandparents who were so patriotic and proud to be British, I could never have imagined that I would receive a truly humiliating honor,” said Beckham, who was knight for his services in sport and to charities for his partnerships with UNICEF and the UN children’s fund.
DalTrey, recognized for services to charities as well as music, has been a patron of “Trust cancer teenage” since 2000. He said he was humiliated by the price.
“It is a dream come true for me, but it is above all a dream because the charitable organization means so much,” he said.
Paige said she was proud, grateful, delighted and surprised by honor.
“I have all these different emotions that come to me at the same time,” she said.
