The European Commission gave the green light so that Bulgaria adopted the Euro on January 1, 2026, putting the country on the right track to become the 21st member of the monetary zone. Brussels claims that Bulgaria has now met all the criteria necessary to reach the euro zone, including price stability and budgetary discipline. However, the Bulgarians are divided and many protested outside the Parliament.
