Car manufacturers, suppliers, semiconductor manufacturers and ecosystem partners have announced the training of the OpenGMSL associationAn initiative to change the future of integrated connectivity.
Consumer requests for automotive systems such as advanced driving aid systems (ADAS), infotainment and autonomous driving increases quickly. The new group was defended by analog appliances.
ADAS is based on high -quality video data for real -time decisions that improve safety, while infotainment systems need high -speed connectivity for immersive experiences.
The objective is to transform the transmission of video and / or high -speed data data as an open and global standard through the automotive ecosystem.
The requirements of modern automobile systems – from ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) to infotainment and autonomous driving – increase rapidly. ADAS vision systems are counting strongly on
High quality video data to make real -time critical decisions that improve drivers safety and reduce accidents.
Meanwhile, touch -screen infotainment systems require high -speed and low latency connectivity to provide seamless immersive user experiences. These factors increase the development costs of new vehicles, complicating integration, stifling innovation and, in the end, slows down the progress of security.
With the launch of the OpenGMSL Association, participation in a global standard allows innovation in autonomous driving, ADAS and infotainment, among other applications. EMOs and suppliers can accelerate marketing time using solutions that work effectively together, which reduces operational costs.
The OpenGMSL standard is based on the multimedia multimedia multimedia series on the road to the analog device
Link technology (GMSL).
Paul Fernando, president of the OpenGMSL Association, said in a press release: “With more than a billion CMSL GMSL shipped and adoption by more than 25 world OEM and 50 level 1 suppliers, GMSL is one of the most mature and most proven high -speed video liaison technologies in the automotive industry.”
Fernando added: “OpenGMSL relies on this strong basis to accelerate innovation through autonomous driving, adas and new generation infodivement – transferring an already prosperous ecosystem in the open and collaborative future.”
OpenGMSL Association is a non -profit entity with its own independent board of directors and encourages global participation. The products developed using the standard will require compulsory compliance tests to ensure transparent and multi-supplier interoperability.
“As the leading provider of precision detection, edge processing, software and robust connectivity in the automotive industry, ADI devotes itself to better positioning our OEM automobiles to stimulate their customers’ innovation while facilitating the burden of complexity,” said Yasmine King, chief of the automotive commercial unit at Analog Devices, in a press release. “We are incredibly proud of our advanced GMSL technology and are impatient to collaborate with our colleagues member of the association according to an industry standard which will strengthen the entire ecosystem.”
Other quotes of support came from Granite River Labs, Global Foundries, Hyundai Mobis, Indie Semiconductor, Keysight Technologies, Rohde & Schwarz and Teledyne Lecroy.
