China, U.S. agree on implementing Geneva consensus, building on London framework, Beijing says

The United States and China have also confirmed the details of the trade agreement concluded by both parties earlier this month in Londonwhich will implement the Geneva consensus, according to a published declaration By the Chinese Ministry of Commerce Friday afternoon.

China will examine and approve requests for exporting the elements under export control rules, while the United States cancels a range of existing restrictive measures imposed on China, a ministry spokesman said in the press release.

The press release intervened after US President Donald Trump said Thursday at the White House event that the two parties had signed a trade agreement without providing more details.
