CIA director details dark web strategy to gather intelligence from China

CIA director John Ratcliffe Detailed the reasoning behind the agency’s strategy to publish two videos in the tangerine language aimed at encouraging Chinese nationals to reach out through the dark web, part of a wider effort to collect the intelligence of the interior of the American opponent.

In an interview on “My Vision With Lara Trump”, Ratcliffe said that the initiative had been designed to exploit the dissatisfaction of Chinese citizens and collect key information on the Chinese Communist Party [CCP] and its operations.

“We have published two Mandarin language videos to the Chinese people, inviting them to contact us via the Dark web because many people in China are not satisfied with what is happening,” he shared on Saturday.

“They can be great sources of intelligence for us.”

The campaign was part of a broader strategy to counter threats from abroad and domestic adversaries and strengthen the American lever effect in high issues negotiations, including the president Donald TrumpThe efforts to conclude agreements with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Ratcliffe also underlined its commitment to depoliticize the CIA and bring the agency back to its main intelligence collection mission – and not to political interference.

He cited the use of the Steele file and the attitudes that rejected the Hunter Biden laptop as a “Russian disinformation” as proof.

“These are the types of politicization that really tarnish what the intelligence community is supposed to do,” he said.

“We are supposed to be apolitical, and that is what President Trump wants me to be. We are better. We are going to come back to what made the CIA formidable.”
