Colleen Hoover’s Video Raises Questions About Her Well-Being

Colleen Hoover has left fans worried about her well-being after sharing a puzzling video on social media.

The “It Ends With Us” author took to Instagram to post a clip of herself making Pepsi ice cubes, an innocuous enough activity, but it was Colleen Hoover’s slow, dazed delivery that had followers raising eyebrows.

“It tastes just like every other Diet Pepsi I’ve ever had,” Hoover said in the video. “But I guess the kicker is in two hours when this ice starts to melt, it’ll be the best thing I’ve ever had. It’s gonna be a great day.”

While the tone may have been intended as a joke, some fans found the clip unsettling, with one calling it “very sad” and another commenting, “That’s very concerning. I hope she is OK and has someone to check on her, that’s what Justin would want.”

Adding to the confusion, Hoover followed up with another video, this time venting about an employee named Stephanie allegedly selling her merchandise at too low a price. She sarcastically referred to Stephanie as her “boss” and joked about going broke.

“My boss Stephanie put all of my merch on sale for $10 an item. That’s like five times cheaper than what I paid for each item, which means by the end of the day today, I’m going to be broke as sh-t,” Hoover said.

She continued, “Thanks, Stephanie. You better be careful because maybe TMZ was right, maybe I am firing all my employees and retiring. Well, I can’t retire now because I’m going to be in the hole by 5 p.m.”

After the video went viral, Hoover addressed the concerns, writing, “Me making ice cubes out of Diet Pepsi is one of the least disturbing things I’ve posted here,” adding a laughing face emoji.

The videos come as Hoover finds herself at the center of controversy over her involvement, whether intentional or not, in the legal battle between “It Ends With Us” stars Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni.

Hoover’s handling of the Lively-Baldoni feud has drawn sharp criticism. After Lively filed a lawsuit against Baldoni in December 2024, accusing him of sexual harassment on set, Hoover appeared to take the actress’s side.

She posted on Instagram Stories praising Lively, writing, “@blakelively, you have been nothing but honest, kind, supportive and patient since the day we met. Thank you for being exactly the human that you are. Never change. Never wilt.”

The post immediately sparked backlash, as Baldoni denied the allegations and countersued Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynoldsfor $400 million in defamation damages. Fans accused Hoover of unfairly taking sides, and she soon deactivated her social media accounts in January before quietly reinstating them in February, without any mention of Lively.

Now, with Hoover promoting her next book-to-film adaptation, “Verity,” starring Anne Hathaway, Dakota Johnson, and Josh Hartnett, public relations experts warn that her reputation could be at stake.

“I don’t foresee any way that Hoover’s career is not affected in some way by Lively and Baldoni’s war,” Ryan McCormick, a reputation management expert, told “Fox News.”

While he believes her loyal fanbase may stick with her, McCormick advised the author to stay “completely out of this heated affair” and avoid making any further statements about Lively or Baldoni.

Fans, however, have already begun flooding Hoover’s Instagram comments, expressing their disappointment.

“So disappointed to see you choose Blake and allow the bullying of Justin. Disgusting behavior,” one person wrote.

“You should be ashamed of how you handled this. Never support a bully,” another added. “You better let Justin remake the movie without Blake and Ryan, or I won’t be watching another one of your films!”

With “Verity” and “Regretting You” both in development for the big screen, Hoover is at a crucial moment in her career. Whether she can move past the controversy or find herself further entangled in the drama remains to be seen.
