Colorado police say suspect in custody after reports several people were set on fire

Boulder’s police in Colorado said on Sunday that several people had been injured and a suspect is in detention following reports that someone would set fire to people in an outdoor shopping center.

Although the FBI immediately described the incident as an act of terror, Boulder’s police chief Steve Redfearn said he was too early to discuss a reason, but witnesses were questioned.

“It would be irresponsible for me to speculate on the reason so early,” he said.

The attack took place in a pedestrian shopping center where the demonstrators had gathered to request the release of hostages that remain in Gaza.

“Our local agents and police are already on the scene, and we will share updates as more information becomes available,” published the director of the FBI, Kash Patel, on social networks.

Boulder police said there were “several victims” in the attack. The injuries that the authorities found in accordance with the information that people are burned, said Redfearn.
