Denmark v Portugal – Line-ups, stats and preview
Denmark welcome Portugal to Copenhagen for the first leg of their Nations League quarter-final on Thursday night.
The winners of the two-legged contest will earn the right to face either Italy or Germany in the semi-finals in June as Portugal look to become the first country to add a second Nations League triumph after winning the first ever tournament in 2019.
Two wins, two draw and two defeats was enough for Denmark to finish second in Group A4 behind Spain, with Cristiano Ronaldo and Co going unbeaten in A1 to seal top spot ahead of the likes of Croatia, Scotland and Poland.
Portugal were beaten on penalties by France in Euro 2024 but responded by winning four of their six Nations League games, with Roberto Martinez hoping to deliver some silverware with this talented crop of players.
While he possesses a squad packed with talent, they still led by Ronaldo at the grand old age of 40, having scored five goals in the group stage of this competition to take his total international tally to a sensational 135.
Denmark, meanwhile, are on the hunt for their first victory under new head coach Brian Riemer, who has overseen a 2-1 defeat against European champions Spain and a goalless draw with Serbia, which was still enough to secure progression in A4.
