Disaster for DC as KL Rahul officially ruled out of….

Delhi Capitals (DC) batter KL Rahul is all set to miss the team’s opening game of the IPL 2025 against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). As per the reports in Cricbuzz, it is learned that the right-hander will miss the match due to family reasons.

Delhi Capitals are all set to open their campaign against Lucknow Super Giants on Monday (24th March). The match is set to take place at the second home ground of the Axar Patel-led side at the Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam.

KL Rahul and his wife Athiya Shetty are expecting the birth of their first child and, as per the reports, the batter has got special permission from the Delhi Capitals management to skip the match against his former franchise. The right-hander had joined the team but had to rush back.

The reports claimed that Rahul rushed back home to Mumbai on Sunday night after he learned that his wife could give birth to a baby at any time. The batter now will be available for the next game of Delhi Capitals against Sunrisers Hyderabad on March 30.

The development was confirmed to Cricbuzz by one of the family friends of KL Rahul. He said that the baby is expected at any time, and hence, the batter had to rush back home. He said:

“He has returned home to be with his wife, as the baby is expected any time. However, he is certain to be available for the team’s next game.”
