DOGE Gets the Green Light to Slash Gun Regulations at ATF

Elon Musk may be out of sight, but the government’s ministry of efficiency is still there and is deployed to terrorize officials of the federal government agencies. The last target: the office of alcohol, tobacco, firearms and explosives, where DOGE will be responsible for reducing restrictions on firearms, According to the Washington Post.

Doge’s staff (those who remain, at least, considering that large -scale characters like the big balls have exploited the operation) would be sent in the ATF in order to cut or revise 47 regulations on firearms. This objective is apparently a reference to Trump being the 47th President of the United States, although The Washington Post reported that they are likely to exceed this figure and to modify more than 50 existing rules. No compliance with regulations or symbolism. They also received a deadline for realization by July 4, because nothing would be a better gift for America for its birthday than easier access to firearms.

Just from the point of view of the process, it is always good to start with an arbitrary number and to seek to make cuts only to meet this quota rather than because something must really change. It’s just intelligent governance, extremely effective things.

As for what these regulations are changed, it is difficult to say. The post noted that the agency applies hundreds of rules that help dictate how firearms are purchased, sold and used in the country. The report has floated the possibility that DOGE can modify the rules on the types of firearms and make the license fees refundable.

Pseudo-Agence would also make modifications to form 4473 compulsory that buyers of firearms are required to fill in when buying a firearm, and sellers are required to keep in their files to help trace firearms. The plan is to reduce the seven -page form to three. How are they going to do this? By asking less questions to the buyer of firearms. By publicationThe questions that are currently separated that wonder things as if a person has engaged in a psychiatric establishment, has been disjorably discharged from the army, or has consumed illegal drugs, it will be enough to source in a single question “yes” or “no” to know if a person is legally authorized to have a firearm.

While Doge is unleashed on the ATF rules book, the Trump administration hacked the agency’s size and goal. The Ministry of Justice recently announcement plans to reduce the number of inspectors on its staff by two thirds, which considerably reduces the agency’s capacity to investigate companies that sell firearms to criminals. It is not going as far as the other Republicans, who have Presentation of legislation To abolish the agency entirely.

The constitution says always “well regulated” in the second amendment, right? Or can Doge cut this line?
