The technological billionaire Elon Musk said on Wednesday that he had regretted some of the social networks that he had published about US President Donald Trump last week during an explosive public dispute with his former close ally.

The quarrel dissolved a tight partnership that had propelled musk to lead the government’s effectiveness department of the budget under the second administration of Trump, fueling market concerns concerning the prospects of Tesla and SpaceX companies in the technological magnate.

“I regret some of my articles on the president @Realdonaldtrump Last week. They went too far, ” Musk said about the social media platform X.

The conflict was triggered by Musk’s opposition to the tax bill and expenses “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” supported by Trump.

On Saturday, Musk had seemed to have deleted some of his publications on social networks which had contributed to the accelerated conflict with the head of the White House, including an update in which he had accused Trump of being mentioned in the “files” of the deceased sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The White House had challenged the allegation.

The line, carried out simultaneously on the social media platforms X and Truth belonging to Musk and Trump, respectively, had also seen the American president suggesting to end the contracts and government subsidies granted to Musk companies.
