The program is reported through the Cadence perspective in the summer of 17 (the numbers correspond to the age of liars). “I just felt like 17 bits all summer, and I think it worked. So many times I just forgot what had happened. The adults of Cadence’s life knew that three out of four liars had died, but they were strict instructions to refrain from talking about their accident. Caitlin Fitzgerald (who plays Cadence’s mother, Penny) explained the turn of her perspective.
