Several environmental groups filed federal legal action on Friday, alleging that officials did not evaluate the ecological impacts during the construction of “Alligator Alcatraz” illegal immigrant Center for detention near the Everglades and Big Cypress National Preserve.
The trial, filed by Friends of the Everglades and the Center for Biological Diversity in the southern district of Florida, aims to suspend construction on the federal site, which is under construction at the unoccupied Dade-Collier training and transition airport.

He added that the center will be a “Force multiplier”, helping to apply President Donald Trump’s mandate.
Funded by the State, the center will cost around $ 450 million to operate each year with Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Refunds.
