Eubank Jr. Vs. Benn: A PPV Built For UK Fans, Ignoring The World

Eubank Jr. Vs. Benn: A PPV Built For UK Fans, Ignoring The World

The undercard for the April 26th Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Conor Benn event has been revealed. It’s 100% slanted toward domestic-level fighters from the UK. The event will be shown on DAZN PPV.

UK Focus

To get fans outside of the UK interested in this event, there needs to be a stacked undercard to make up for what is lacking in the main event between these two underachievers. There’s nothing attention-grabbing for non-Brits on this card to make them want to purchase it on PPV.

The Full Card

Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Conor Benn
Lyndon Arthur vs. Anthony Yarde
Aaron McKenna vs. Liam Smith
Chris Billiam-Smith vs. Brandon Glaton
Viddal Riley vs. Cheavon Clarke

Let’s face it: Eubank Jr. and Benn will never win world titles, and they’ll get destroyed by any of the champions in their respective weight classes. If fights like Eubank Jr-Benn are the direction the sport is heading, that’s sad.

Hopefully, some good world-class-level fights will be added to the Eubank Jr-Benn fight before April 26th because, thus far, there’s nothing interesting to see in this event. That includes the circus-level main event between the children of famous retired British world champions.

Social media fans who are not UK fans are underwhelmed by the card. They view it for UK consumption and only have one decent flight: the celebrity-level headliner between Benn and Eubnk Jr. None of the undercard fighters are destined to win world titles at this point.

Ticket Sales

“Conor is fired up, and he’s training like an absolute monster,” said Eddie Hearn to iFL TVgiving an update on Conor Benn ahead of his fight with Chris Eubank Jr. next April. “I have a funny feeling he’ll (Chris Eubank Sr) will be there.

“I really hope he is. You always want your dad to be there in the moment like this, especially with an ex-fighter an the rivalry. I think something like that is personal, and I don’t think we should really speculate. It’s not for us to talk about their relationship. It’s up to them to find a way to mend it.

“Limited tickets left. Over 60,000 tickets gone,” said Hearn about the Eubank Jr. vs. Benn fight at the Tottenham Hotspurs Stadium. “So, yeah, it’s going to be a complete sellout.”
