Fans React To Halle Berry’s Comments After Adrien Brody Kiss

Halle Berry and Adrien Brody created one of the moments of the 2025 Oscars when they shared a kiss, a recreation of their steamy kiss at the 2003 edition of the awards, and fans have had their say about it.

Berry couldn’t resist getting back at Brody, who kissed her before accepting his award in 2003 and had to wait over two decades for the right opportunity.

Brody was with his girlfriend Georgina Chapman when Berry stole in for the kiss. However, Berry’s boyfriend, Van Huntdidn’t attend the Oscars, and she revealed the reason for that, sparking reactions from fans.

Brody was speaking to Access Hollywood reporters at the Academy Awards red carpet on Sunday when Berry spotted and approached him.

Chapman was standing beside her boyfriend when the “Catwoman” actress joined them. Berry, eager to carry on with her plans, acknowledged Chapman and sought her permission, saying, “I’m sorry, Georgina, but I gotta do it.”

Afterward, Berry wrapped her arms around Brody and kissed him passionately for a few seconds. The pair then embraced and laughed off the sensational moment.

Reporters and those who witnessed the viral moment were shocked and exclaimed, while Chapman clapped and laughed.

Berry then kissed Chapman on the cheek and told her she had to “pay him back.” The actress also clarified that she went ahead with the kiss “only because Georgina said I could.”

Afterward, Brody kissed Chapman, causing the reporters to describe the moment as “the best Oscar moment.”

Unsurprisingly, Berry and Brody’s kiss caused a buzz, and reporters soon swarmed her, wanting more details about the moment.

ET caught up with the actress and asked her about the kiss. She responded, “I’ve been dying to pay him back for 22 years.” She added, “21 years, now I got a chance to pay him back on his big night.”

The outlet’s reporters recalled how Brody kissed Chapman after kissing Berry and likened it to a moment in “The Challengers” movie.

Berry responded, “It’s all love, though, it’s all love.”

One of the reporters then asked Berry about her boyfriend, Van Hunt, saying, “And where’s your man tonight, where’s he?”

She replied, “My man is with the kids tonight. He is holding it down tonight. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do for the family.”

When he climbed the stage to receive the award, he pulled the “Monster Ball” actress in for a steamy kiss that shocked everyone, including her.

She said, “No, that was not planned. I knew nothing about it. I was like, ‘What the f-ck is happening right now?’ That is what was going through my mind.”

She added, “And because I was there the year before and I know the feeling of being out of your body, I just f-cking went with it. But I was like what the f-ck is going on right now.”

When Andy Cohen asked how the kiss was, Berry replied, “I don’t know. I was too focused on what the f-ck is going on right now.”

Halle Berry has waited a long time to get back at Adrien Brody for kissing her at the 2003 Oscars, and she explained why she is just paying him back.

In a chat with Variety at the 2025 Oscars, she shared, “That was one hell of a night for him, and for me as well. To be a part of his moment… tonight I had to pay him back.”

She added, “I’ve seen him out at parties, but this is the first time since that night that I’ve seen him on the red carpet somewhere. He’s nominated this year. He deserved that.”

The night ended even better for Brody after his kiss with Berry as he won the Best Actor Award for his performance in “The Brutalist,” his first Oscars since 2003.
