The former French Prime Minister François Fillon received on Tuesday a four-year suspended prison sentence for corruption on the “Fake Jobs” scandal which was fatal to his presidential candidacy in 2017. The ex-PM was found guilty in 2022 for having given a job as fraudulent parliamentary assistant to his wife for which she was paid millions of euros in public funds.
