Fujifilm announced a New camera this week, the X-E5The last of his series of cameras without mirror in theaters. Consider the XE as a version of interchangeable lens X100. The big news in the X-E5 is the last APS-C sensor of 40 megapixels of Fujifilm and the stabilization of image at 7 stops (Ibis). This is the first camera in the XE series with Ibis, which, according to Fujifilm, will earn around 7 maintenance stops. The new sensor also means that the video specifications jump at 6.2K at 30 images per second (with a culture of 1.23) and a complete 4K 30 IPS sensor video.
The X-E5 takes up the switch in focusing mode on the side of the body (notably absent from the X-E4) and adds a new film simulation dial. While many cameras passionate about Fujifilm have this control, that of the X-E5 can store personalized presets with your own film recipes. One thing that remains unchanged is meteorological sealing, which still does not exist here. Disappointing is also that the viewfinder remains small, with the same ridiculous resolution (point of 2.36 m, 1025 x 768) as the old model.
With the kind authorization of Fujifilm
The X-E5 will be available in the United States in August for $ 1,699 for the body only and $ 1,899 for a version with the new WR lens of 23 mm f / 2.8R of Fujifilm, launching alongside the X-E5. To meet the demand (something Fujifilm did not do with the X-E4), the company will not sell the goal as an autonomous until the end of 2025. In Augmented World Exo (AWE) this week, Qualcomm has demonstrated its new Snapdragon AR1 + Chipset designed for smart glasses and its ability to perform a small language model without having to be attached to a smartphone or count on the cloud for treatment.
Currently, most smart glasses are designed to stay connected with smartphones, which will deal with any treatment for AI requests, such as when you ask a Meta AI question via the Meta-bands (fueled by the original AR1). But this aspires the lifespan of the precious battery and can also introduce a certain delay when the ping pongs demand on the phone and back. By integrating the ability to treat a small language model directly via the Ar1 + chip on smart glasses, you can expect a faster response, better battery life and improved intimacy because everything remains on the device. It also means that you don’t need your phone nearby to get an AI chatbot response.
The AR1 + chipset is also 26% smaller than its predecessor, which, according to Qualcomm, will help make smart glasses slightly less heavy to wear. Improvements in food management also help make the chip more effective, and the company has added image processing techniques from smartphones to help smart glasses with integrated cameras to better understand the world around.
