Israeli attacks on aid distribution sites sending increased number of victims to hospitals indicate the ICRC.
The Gaza health system is “extremely fragile” in the middle of the current Israeli war, warned the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
The organization said in a statement on Sunday that the enclave hospitals had an urgent need for protection and strengthening in the middle of the bombing and the continuous blockade of Israel. He added that the system faces increasing pressure due to the increase in victims of Israeli attacks at the aid points.
“Over the past two weeks, Rafah’s Red Cross Hospital had to activate its mass victim victim incident procedure 12 times, receiving a high number of patients with ball injuries and bursts of buses,” the ICRC said in a statement on X on Sunday.
“A overwhelming majority of patients in recent incidents said they had tried to reach the assistance distribution sites,” he said.

Hundreds of Palestinians have been killed by Israeli fires on aid distribution sites operated by Gaza Humaninian Foundation (GHF) supported by the United States and Israel since its launch on May 27.
The organization has ousted the United Nations and other independent agencies of the aid distribution effort to the result of an 11 -week blockade of the enclave which has prompted many warnings that many Gaza residents are now confronted with famine.
The Gaza government media office reported on Sunday that the number of deaths after events focused on GHF help sites had increased to 125. 736 others were injured, with nine missing.
‘Increase in hostilities’
The office managed by Hamas said 13 people were killed and 153 injured In the latest attacks. The Israeli forces would have opened fire on civilians gathered near aid distribution centers east of Rafah and Wadi Gaza Bridge, in the center of Gaza.
Witness Abdallah Nour Al-Din told the AFP news agency that “people began to come together in the Al-Alam region in Rafah” early in the morning.
“After about an hour and a half, hundreds moved to the site and the army opened fire,” he said.
The Israeli army said that it had shot people who “continued to advance in a manner that endangered soldiers” despite warnings.
A GHF press release said there was no incident “on none of our three sites” on Sunday.
‘Urgent action’
The Red Cross also expressed its concern that the intensification of conflicts endangers the few functional medical installations of the enclave.
“The last days have increased hostilities in the few remaining and functional hospitals,” he said in the statement.
“This has made patient transfers between the increasingly difficult facilities and, in many cases, patients cannot receive the intensive or specialized care they need.”
The ICRC has warned that new loss of life is inevitable without urgent action and have called for the protection of health and staff infrastructure.
“We must take all the measures achievable to support their work, ensure their safety and guarantee that they are not deprived of vital resources necessary to do their work.”
