As much as I appreciated using Meta’s Ray-BansI was not a very big fan of the Meta View application / rebrand, which was a fairly simple companion of smart glasses. Now we have the Meta you have an application, A very simple half-glass companion who is really really Really Try to make you interact – what else – ai. The list of reasons for which I do not like the transition of the application is long, but there is always room for more grievances in my book, and unfortunately for Meta (and for us), this list has become a little longer.
Wild things happen on the AI application of Meta.
The flow is almost entirely baby boomers who seem to have any idea that their conversations with the chatbot are published publicly.
They become quite personal (see the second photo, which I anonymized). pic.twitter.com/0hoff1pspu

There have been a lot of settings when Meta crossed the Meta View application to the Meta AI application at the end of April, and it seems that they were not recorded by the people who use it. We can say that one of the biggest changes, as you can see in the tweet above, is the addition of a flow of “discovery”, which means in this case that you can see publicly, by default, what types of people unite the competitor chatgpt of Meta. This could be good if these people knew that what they asked for Meta IA would be displayed in a public flow which appears in good place in the application, but on the basis of the prompts highlighted by a technological investor, Justine Moore, on X, It doesn’t really look like people TO DO Know that, and it’s bad, friends. Very bad.
I spent an hour traveling the application and I saw:
-Medical and tax files
-Private details on judicial affairs
-Fraft excited letters for crimes
-House Address
-Business confessions
… And much more!I’m not going to publish any – but here is my favorite so far pic.twitter.com/9kqgelb5un

As Moore notes, users launch all kinds of prompts in Meta IA without knowing that they are publicly displayed, including sensitive medical and tax documents, addresses and deeply personal information, including, but without limiting themselves – the confessions of cases, crimes and cases. The list, unfortunately, continues. I made a short walk in the Meta AI application for me just to verify that it always happened from the writing of this post, and I regret informing you that the pain of pain seems to ride. In my exploration of the application, I found apparently confidential prompts to solve doubts / problems with others, including a woman wondering if her male partner is really a feminist. I also discovered A 66-year-old self-identified man asking him where he can find women who are interested in “older men” and a few hours later, inquiring about transgender women in Thailand.
I cannot say with certainty, but I will guess that none of these guests were intended for public consumption. I mean, hey, different blows for different people, but generally when I am looking for dating advice to have doubts about my relationship, I prefer that it is between me and a therapist or a close friend. Gizmodo has contacted Meta to find out if they are aware of the problem and update this message with a response if and when we will receive one. For the moment, it is recommended, if you will use the Meta AI application, to access your settings (or your parents’ settings) and modify the default to stop publishing publicly. To do this, open the Meta AI application and:
I saw a lot of bad application design at the time, but I’m going to be honest, it’s among the worst. In fact, this evokes a few things, especially when Facebook has published a search bar during the day that was misinterpreted for the publication bar by some, which made users hit and grasp what they thought were private research in the post. There is also a suspicion of Vemo here when users were unaware that their payments were during the catalog publicly. As you can imagine, these public payments have led to some Uncompromising details. For the moment, I would say that it is probably better to avoid the use of Meta IA for something sensitive, because you could get much more advertising than you have negotiated.
